The world is looking at Japan. Japanese real estate is setting sail for the world.
When the bubble economy peaked in 1990, an exaggerated claim circulated that the combined land value of Tokyo’s 23 wards equalled the value of all land in the United States. The subsequent collapse of the bubble changed the prevailing view from “buying Japanese real estate guarantees a profit” to an environment in which Japanese real estate was considered something to avoid. A prolonged downturn followed.
Tokyo’s successful bid for the 2020 Olympics brought renewed international attention to Japan and its real estate. After more than 20 years of stagnation, property markets began to show an upward trend alongside economic growth associated with Abenomics.
Residential prices in the Tokyo metropolitan area then rose for six consecutive years, while prices of existing condominium apartments increased by approximately 25% over five years. Considering the sharp rises in property prices in Europe and North America, Japan, also a developed country, offers a property market worth watching.
In an environment of government opening measures and local support, Japanese real estate agencies grew rapidly. GREW CO., LTD. has been an active participant in this change. Our team understands Japanese real estate expertise, current developments and market conditions. We aim to build a capable, trustworthy brokerage team through professionalism, quality and comprehensive service.
At GREW, we follow the philosophy of treating people sincerely and working conscientiously, and strive to provide attentive service to both new and existing clients.
